Not to turn a blind eye to the war in Ukraine and Russia’s “illegal annexations,” Arab League leaders have been urged by the Ukrainian president. Volodymyr Zelensky.

Unfortunately there are some in the world and here among you who turn a blind eye to these affairs and illegal attachments. I’m here so everyone can take an honest look, no matter how hard the Russians try to influence them, there has to be independence.” Zelensky said from Saudi Arabia where he is, and he said he was sure none of the other leaders would let another country take their children, as Russia has done by forcibly repatriating children from eastern Ukraine, without “a fight.”

“Ukrainians never chose war. Our troops did not go to other countries. We do not engage in annexation and plunder of other nations’ resources. But we will never submit to foreigners or settlers. That’s why we fight. I am sure you will understand our main sentiment, the main call I want to make in Jeddah, a kind appeal to all of you to help protect our people, including the Ukrainian Muslim community.” Zelensky pointed out.

“Crimea and the Tatars should remain an integral part of the world’s Muslim community, but Crimea was the first to suffer from Russian occupation. Mostly, those who have suffered the occupation are Muslims” added the Ukrainian president.

He also thanked Saudi Arabia for helping to negotiate the return of the prisoners.

“I welcome all who are ready to join us on the path of justice. Ukraine published the peace formula to end the war. You can see how it works in the example of food security,” he said. “Even when the war is in our house, we do everything to make other people’s houses survive. We succeeded in launching the Black Sea grain initiative and lifting the partial Russian blockade of our ports. This stabilized food markets and helped many, many, including Arab League nations.” Zelensky concluded.
