“Nationality: English. Date of birth: 30 March 1970. Place of birth: Edinburgh, Scotland (…) Wanted under an article of the criminal code’ says the announcement published on the ministry’s website, without even specifying the nature of the offense.

On March 17, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant against the Russian president, accusing him of being responsible for war crimes committed in Ukraine.

Moscow has repeatedly denied accusations that its forces committed atrocities during the invasion.

The ICC issued the arrest warrant for Putin on suspicion of illegal deportation of children and illegal transportation of people from the territory of Ukraine to the Russian Federation.

The court also issued a warrant for Maria Alekseyeva Lvova-Belova, Russia’s commissioner for children’s rights, on the same charges
