At least six people were injured today by shelling in the Belgorod region of Russia, where militants from Ukraine are invading, the governor of the region announced on his Telegram account.

According to Vychislav Gladkov, two people were injured by the shelling of the village of Glotovo, another three in the Grayvoron region and one in the village of Zamostie. All of these locations are near the Ukrainian border and in the area where the militant incursion is underway, according to Russian authorities.

In Greyvoron, according to the governor, the injured are two men and a woman who were taken to hospital.

Three private houses were damaged and engulfed in flames.

In the village of Zamostie, according to Gladkoff, a projectile fell into a daycare center, engulfing it in flames and injuring a woman’s hands, who was given first aid on the spot.

The governor of the region stated that the “Edelweiss” plan has been put in place.

Earlier, the Legion “Freedom in Russia” and the “Corps of Russian Volunteers” had announced that they were conducting an operation in the Grayvoron district of the Belgorod region.

The press service of the Legion “Freedom in Russia”, announced that in the Belgorod region of Russia “the situation is difficult”. “The Legion ‘Freedom in Russia’ and the ‘Corps of Russian Volunteers’ are creating a demilitarized zone on the border with Ukraine, from where the Russian army will not be able to bomb Ukraine,” reads the legion’s statement.

The “Freedom in Russia” legion and the “Russian Volunteer Corps” are volunteer military units made up of Russian citizens fighting alongside the Ukrainian army.
