Two programming contracts for infrastructure projects with a budget of 2,290,000 euros in the area of ​​Keratea were co-signed with the mayor of Lavreotiki Dimitris Loukas by the regional governor Giorgos Patoulis, during his visit to the municipality, in order to be informed about the progress of the projects with a budget of more than 20 million are financed through the Region and the PEP of Attica having given a strong sign of development to the wider region.

During his tour, the regional governor visited important projects financed by the Region such as the “Bia House”, a listed building which will be turned into a Folklore Museum, the Pontian Cultural Center where he received a warm welcome from the president of the Panpontian Federation of Greece G. Varithimiadis and the Technological Cultural Park of Lavrio.

He made special reference to the financing of urban planning studies with a budget of 2 million euros, through which thousands of hectares of areas that will concern A and B residences, as well as tourist infrastructure, were included or are in the phase of being included in the city plan, with a special emphasis on the Urban Planning Study & Geological Study Suitability of the 1st Town Planning Unit of Poundazeza, “a request of years”, as the mayor pointed out.
On the occasion of the programming for asphalt pavements, Mr. Patoulis emphasized that the Region emphasizes the safety of the cities, with the implementation of anti-flood projects and road safety infrastructures. “We invest in the safety of life and property of citizens. For the construction of the field with artificial turf at the Keratea Municipal Stadium, with dimensions of the playing field 50m x 70m and a total fenced surface of 54m x 74m, Mr. Patoulis emphasized that many developmental sports and cultural projects are being carried out. “In close cooperation with the municipal officials, we succeeded and overcame obstacles that were delaying the implementation of projects,” he said.
With reference to the upgrading of the port, the regional governor informed that they will be financed through the PEP of Attica with 2 million. euros, upgrade interventions in the passenger area, to increase safety and improve environmental parameters, etc. as he said “we want a quality and green port, functional and modern, which will bring Attica closer to our islands”. as he said.
At the construction site of the Pontian Cultural Center, which is financed by resources of the Region, amounting to 1 million Euros and will be completed next month, representatives of the Pontian Association “O MITHRIDATIS”, thanked the regional governor for his contribution to the realization of this important historical and cultural space, emphasizing “We Pontians do not forget”.
He carried out a similar supervision in the listed building “OIKIA BIA” in Keratea, the restoration of which is financed by the Region with a budget of 1.8 million and will be completed in 1.5 years. It is an old Medieval Mansion which will become a folklore museum with the contribution of the cultural and folklore associations of the region.
At the Technological Cultural Park of Lavrio, the regional governor was informed about the course of implementation of the maintenance and restoration of archival material as well as metal and wooden objects for the formation of a mining – metallurgy museum. The project has a budget of 706,000 Euros. and is done on the initiative of the National Technical University of Athens. It should be noted that with funding from the Region (budget of 1,160,000 Euros) the construction of the Preserved Machine Shop Complex has been completed. Mr. Patoulis was welcomed by NTUA rector A.
