Shortly after four in the morning, local time, a bus that had started from Lecce in lower Italy bound for Rome fell into a ravine near the town of Avellino in Campania. As the Italian Fire Department announced, one person died and fourteen were injured.

According to the data so far, the cause of the tragic incident was a traffic accident that had occurred on the A16 highway. The drivers had left their cars in the central lane, as a result of which the bus driver, in his attempt to avoid the cars, lost control of his vehicle and fell into the ravine.

The mobilization of the firefighters was immediate and six teams from the wider area of ​​Naples have rushed to the area. In total, there were thirty-six passengers and two drivers on board the coach.
