In an article citing information leaked online, the CIA was informed in June 2022 by a European intelligence agency that a six-member team of Ukrainian special forces intended to blow up the pipelines
The Russian Embassy in the USA announced today that a report that Washington knew about the Ukrainian plan to attack the Nord Stream natural gas pipeline is part of of the West’s concerted effort to confuse the world.
The Washington Post reported in an article yesterday, citing information leaked online, that the CIA was tipped off in June 2022 by a European intelligence agency that a six-member team of Ukrainian special forces intended to blow up the pipelines.
“The concerted campaign by the West, led by the US, to confuse the international community is unfolding in an inelegant and obvious way”Russian diplomat Andrei Ledenev commented on Telegram.
“The reason for the proliferation of various theories and versions, supported by notoriously ‘confidential’ elements of the local Intelligence community, is so simple as to be trite,” he added.
As the Washington Post reported in its article yesterday, a European intelligence service warned the CIA in June 2022 that divers of the Ukrainian special forces – who answer directly to the head of the Ukrainian armed forces – were planning to blow up the Nord Stream pipelines.
The paper cites information derived from the classified documents, which were posted online by young US soldier Jack Teixeira before the leak was discovered and the perpetrator arrested in mid-April.
According to the Washington Post, as soon as the US was informed of the alleged attack plan, it alerted its allies, including Germany.
The European Intelligence Service pointed out that this operation was overseen by General Valery Zaluzny, without the knowledge of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
