Karim Benzema spoke about Cristiano Ronaldo and his presence in the Saudi Arabian league in his statements about the start of his collaboration with Al Ittihad.
The French striker, after stating that his transfer to Al Ittihad is a challenge for his career, argued that the league in Saudi Arabia is developing, which is proven by the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo.
“I’m looking forward to experiencing a new league in a different country. Al Ittihad has a great history, incredibly passionate fans and big footballing ambitions to become a powerhouse in Asia after winning the league.
I had the opportunity to achieve great things in my career and achieve everything I could in Spain and in Europe. I think it’s time for a new challenge,” Benzema said and added:
“Whenever I visited Saudi Arabia, I always felt such warmth and love from the fans and the people. I look forward to joining my new team-mates and helping this great club and football in Saudi Arabia become a landmark.
It’s a new challenge for me, a new life and I can’t wait to start training. I will do everything to win trophies, score goals, show my talent, satisfy the fans, the club, the President, everyone.
It’s a good league and there are a lot of good players. Cristiano Ronaldo is already there, a friend who shows that Saudi Arabia is starting to progress. I’m here to win, like I did in Europe. I look forward to seeing you in Jeddah,” he concluded.
