Although he served as Prime Minister of Italy in the periods 1994–1995, 2001–2006 and 2008–2011, Cavaliere was for many a controversial figure who remained in the world’s consciousness for the infamous “bunga bunga” » parties and his volatile love life, which often made headlines in the Italian and international press.
In fact, his symbolic “marriage” with his last partner, 53 years his junior Marta Fasina, last March, had caused international interest.
Silvio Berlusconi has been called the Hugh Hefner of Italy, mainly because of the famous girls’ parties (bunga-bunga) he organized at his villa in Sardinia for the benefit of his high-profile guests.
These parties had brought him face to face with justice, in a long trial, with accusations of financing, bribery and even prostitution of minors.
However, in February 2023, the Milan court acquitted him of the charges of bribing and financing girls at the infamous “bunga-bunga” parties, with the aim of testifying that it was only about simple dinners, without payment of money and sexual relations.
The two “official” Mrs. Berlusconi and the “fiancee”
Berlusconi had two long-term marriages and had 5 children.
In 1965 he married with Carla Elvira Dal’Olio and divorced in 1985.
In 1990 he married the actress Veronica Lario. The couple, who have three children, divorced in 2009 after Mrs Berlusconi learned their husband had attended the birthday party of an 18-year-old girl who called him ‘daddy’.
The much-hyped divorce came out in 2014 and since then Cavaliere has been paying 1.4 million euros a month in alimony to Lario.
However, the then 77-year-old Silvio had found love again in the face of his 28-year-old “fiancee”, Francesca Pascalewho along the way turned out to be a lesbian and never loved Cavaliere.
At that time, Berlusconi wanted to “rejuvenate” and started doing botox, tanning beds and dyeing his hair – an image that accompanied him until the end of his turbulent life.
He occasionally appeared with ethereal beings at his side, who were usually either his “relatives” or “fiancées” but Italians weren’t shocked – they just knew him by now and treated his love affairs with the light lifestyle gossip that suited them.
Cavaliere’s last companion and informal wife, Marta Fascinawas with him to the end.
