Dental problems forced the president of the USA Joe Biden to cancel today’s scheduled appearance at a sporting event and postpone his meeting with the NATO secretary general, as announced by White House.

The 80-year-old president suffered from a severe toothache and yesterday Sunday he had undergone endodontic treatment by dentists at Walter Reed Military Hospital. White House chief physician Kevin O’Connor said the US president was in discomfort again in the morning, which he explained was to be expected given the completion of treatment.

The dental procedure will take place at the White House, without President Biden undergoing general anesthesia. Therefore, Joe Biden will not have to temporarily transfer his powers to US Vice President Kamala Harris, as provided for in the 25th amendment of the Constitution. He had done so for about an hour and a half on November 19, 2021, when he was sedated to undergo a colonoscopy.

Vice President Harris will fill in for President Biden at the sporting event he had planned to attend.

At the same time, the meeting of the US President with the Secretary General of NATO was postponed until tomorrow Tuesday Jens Stoltenberg.

The 80-year-old Biden aspires to run for re-election to the US presidency in 2024, encouraged by the results of the medical tests he underwent recently.
