Authorities in the Ukrainian city of Krevi Ri (central) spoke of “massive missile attack” of Russia in the early morning hours today, resulting in the loss of lives of residents, injuries to others and damage to political infrastructure.

“There are dead and wounded,” Serhii Lisak, governor of the district, said via Telegram. Dnipropetrovsk, where Krevi Ri is administratively subordinate. He spoke of a “massive missile attack” by the Russian armed forces on the city.

Earlier, the mayor of Crevi Ri, Alexander Vilkul, spoke of buildings that were affected, among them a five-story apartment building, estimating that “there are probably people trapped in the debris.”

Due to the damage to the other buildings, “we have injured people in a very serious condition,” Mayor Vilkul added via Telegram.

Neither official gave a more specific account.

The mayor of the city of Kharkiv (east) spoke via Telegram about Russian UAVs hitting civilian infrastructure, including a warehouse and a utility company building, without mentioning any casualties.

Air defense sirens sounded across almost all of Ukraine for hours overnight.

The head of the Kyiv military administration, Serhii Popko, however, assured that the Russian air strike against the Ukrainian capital was repelled and all missiles headed for the city were destroyed.

“We have received no information on casualties or damage so far,” Mr Popko added via Telegram.
