School caretaker Ian Coates, aged in his 60s, is the third victim of the knife attacks carried out in the early hours of Tuesday in Nottingham city center by a 31-year-old.

The identity of the victim confirmed on Wednesday the management of the school where he worked, noting that he was a very dear person who always went the extra mile for the benefit of the students.

Police believe Ian Coates succumbed to stab wounds which the perpetrator managed to do, who then stole the victim’s white pickup truck.

He then drove away with this vehicle three pedestrians, one of whom is hospitalized in critical condition.

The other two dead were identified on Tuesday as 19-year-old University of Nottingham students Barnaby Webber and Grace Kumar.

The first he was a cricketer and the second had represented England in field hockey matches in the junior national teams.

In their statement the parents of the 19-year-old they speak of being “completely devastated” and saying goodbye to their “handsome, brilliant and intelligent” son.

Information about the attacker states that he is originally from West Africa, has lived legally in the UK since his teenage years and has a history of mental health problems.

Police are still holding the 31-year-old on suspicion of murder rather than terrorist attacks, although they have not ruled out any possibility.
