A man threw two women off a 300m high bridgeafter them sexually assaulted at a famous tourist spot in Germany, killing one of them, according to reports.

According to a Daily Mail report, the bridge is close to Neuschwanstein Castle in the south of the country.

It appears the two women were on the Marienbrücke Bridge, a narrow footbridge that spans a gorge about 300 feet high, when they were attacked by the man.

According to German tabloid Bild, the 31-year-old man sexually assaulted the two women at the popular tourist attraction on Wednesday afternoon.

A struggle ensued, and the man threw them both into the canyon below.

One of the victims, who was reportedly a tourist, died.

Police said another woman was seriously injured, Bild reported, and that a large-scale police operation was launched at the tourist attraction.

According to international media the man fled but was apprehended.

The attack is said to have happened at the entrance to the bridge, which is hugely popular as it offers a scenic view of Neuschwanstein Castle – said to be the inspiration for Disney’s ‘Cinderella’ castle.
