The establishment of a special committee that will check the heads of all recruiting offices in Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky ordered today Friday.
After a meeting with his military staff, the Ukrainian president announced that the committee will be headed by Deputy Defense Minister Oleksandr Pavlyuk.
The decision was made in the aftermath corruption scandal revelations starring the head of a recruiting office. According to a report in the Ukrainska Pravda newspaper, his family acquired property and cars worth millions of dollars in Spain. Zelensky announced that he had already ordered his ouster.
“I have given an urgent order to set up a committee which – in cooperation with law enforcement and the National Anti-Corruption Service – will check all heads of military offices in all regions of Ukraine, so that let no one embarrass our country and the memory of the heroes who fell on the front,” said Volodymyr Zelensky in a post on the Telegram platform.
The president of Ukraine also informed that he discussed with his staffs the situation on the front lines of the battles, the deliveries of weapons systems and the production rate of the Ukrainian military industry.
