He called on the Israeli army to show restraint UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunakasked about the escalation of violence in the Palestinian territories.

“We support Israel’s right to self-defense, we have condemned the recent terrorist attacks. We would say that the protection of civilians must be a priority and we urge the Israeli armed forces to show restraint in their operation and all sides to avoid further escalation in both the West Bank and Gaza, both now and in the days ahead,” he replied. Mr. Sunak to a question he received as part of his regular appearance before the Joint Parliamentary Committee, which is made up of the chairmen of the individual thematic committees of the House of Commons.

Mr. Sunak also said, among other things, that he considers Ukraine’s place to be within NATO.

He estimated that a multilateral declaration of support for Ukraine “would send a message to Putin that his efforts are in vain”.

The British Prime Minister also defended his immigration policy and the plan to send asylum seekers to Rwanda, which has been ruled illegal by London’s Court of Appeal.
