Israeli forces began withdrawing late tonight from the Palestinian city of Jenin, a defense ministry official said, after carrying out one of the biggest military operations in the occupied West Bank in years.

Mosque video in the Jenin camp, as part of the major operation it is conducting, the Israeli army said on Tuesday. The Israeli military claims that ammunition and weapons were found hidden inside the mosque. The IDF says “a place of worship was turned into an outpost and weapons cache for members of terrorist groups,” amid the major operation in the West Bank city.

“Yesterday, we attempted to neutralize gunmen, who were using a Mosque as a cover for terrorist operations. Today, the soldiers completed the mission by seizing the hundreds of different weapons and ammunition and eliminating the underground hatches and tunnels used by the terrorists under the Mosque.” mentioned in the video.

In another video, the Israeli military says it neutralized 11 improvised explosive devices in the Jenin camp.

Also, on Monday night, the Israeli military released photos of explosives and weapons it says it found in the camp. “All these illegal explosives and weapons were seized today in Camp Jenin. They were stored in exclusively urban areas, with complete disregard for the people who lived around. We will continue to operate to neutralize the threat of terrorism from the Jenin region.” is noted.
