Another 13 people were injured
Seven people died in a Russian strike on a humanitarian aid distribution center in the city Orihivin central Ukraine, according to the latest tally announced this evening by rescue services.
“Rescuers pulled out three more people from the wreckage, the death toll rose to seven,” Ukraine’s emergency service said in a Telegram post.
The prosecution spoke of 13 injured by bombing the one that occurred at noon on Sunday. Local governor Yuri Malasco said a humanitarian aid distribution center in a residential area was hit. The interior ministry said it was a college that was hit as civilians had gathered there to receive emergency supplies.
THE bomb completely destroyed the building while neighboring houses and other infrastructure were severely damaged.
The town of Orihiv, which had a pre-war population of 14,000, is in Zaporizhia Oblast, one of four Ukrainian regions that Russia will “annex” in 2022 although it does not fully control. The city is close to the front line, where Ukrainian forces have been trying since early June to recapture well-fortified Russian army positions.
