Heavy hail noted in the region Veneto of northeastern Italy. As the president of the region, Luca Zaia, pointed out, at least one hundred and ten people were injured by the haildue to slippery roads and broken windows due to bad weather. None of the injured are in critical condition.

“Fat hail fell, the size of a tennis ball”writes the Italian press. Great damage was recorded to crops, roofs of houses and also due to falling trees. In Paduain Venicein Vicenza and to Verona the firefighters performed series of operations to move large tree trunks from roads.

This is a region that produces many well-known Italian wines, and winemakers are preparing to claim it now emergency financial aid from the government of Rome.
