Patrizia Mirigliani, the head of Italian beauty pageants, expressed her concerns about the tendency of beauty pageants to use “absurd” strategies to attract media attention.
He even emphasized that Miss Italy will not join the “shiny band of trans activism”.
However, Miss Netherlands will represent her country at the Miss Universe pageant, which has accepted transgender candidates since 2012.
