On Thursday night, Lil Tay (aka Claire Hope) came forward to say it was all a hoax
She is alive, but she still exists a “cloud” of family feud and tragedy surrounding 14-year-old influencer Lil Tay.
The news of her and her brother’s “death” went around the internet yesterday and was covered by all the media. In fact, on their personal Instagram account, the family had also “uploaded” a relevant statement about their supposed death. The post claimed her brother, 22-year-old Jason Tian, had also died.
“We have no words to express the unbearable loss and indescribable pain. This result was completely unexpected and has left us all in a state of shock,” the statement said.
Almost immediately, conspiracy theories hit the internet, as her alleged former manager told the US Sun that they were reticent about why the statement had not been signed by anyone from Tay’s family and the father himself of the child declined to confirm or deny the deaths.

On Thursday night, Lil Tay (aka Claire Hope) came forward to say it was all a hoax. “I want to make it clear that my brother and I are safe and alive, but I am completely devastated and struggling to even find the right words to say it,” she said in a statement to
TMZ.
“It was a very traumatic 24 hours. All day yesterday, I was bombarded with endless heartbreaking and tearful phone calls from loved ones as I tried to clean up this mess.” She claimed that her Instagram account had been “hacked”.
But the new statement failed to allay fears for Lil Tay’s health and safety, especially considering the “strange” reports in recent years detailing a bitter custody battle and rumors that she was being abused and exploited by members of her family.

“Rolling Stone” also reported that the news coincided with the launch of a Little Tay project, which is – apparently – overseen by the girl’s manager, Carry Tsang.
Her website, LilTay Token, was taken down after the girl appeared to claim she was alive. Lil Tay rose to internet fame in 2018 with videos that showed the kid trash-talking and showing off wads of cash. Actually, Tay Tian is a little girl who lives in Vancouver. Her mother has worked as a real estate agent and her father is a lawyer.
Her brother, Jason, reportedly created Lil Tay’s character and coached his sister on what to say. In 2018, a reporter for “Good Morning America” interviewed Lil Tay and her mother, Angela Tian, implying that her family was making a lot of money from her videos. “No one is forcing me to do this,” she said Lil Tay as her smiling mother sat next to her. “It’s not true that my mother wants to make money from me.”
She quickly connected with other famous internet guys like rappers Bhad Bhabie, Chief Keef and, according to “New York” magazine, her family saw -at the time- several managers, but there was no agreement for further collaboration.
The videos showing Tay flaunting cash at luxury homes are said to have been filmed inside homes listed by her realtor mother, and at least one of the expensive cars she’s been seen in is said to belong to her mother’s boss. According to “Vice,” her mother’s boss said she quit her job before she could be fired. By 2021, it appeared that Lil Tay’s life had taken a very “dark” turn.
Her brother Jason set up a GoFundMe for his younger sister titled “Save Tay from a Lifetime of Abuse.” However, she had stated on the matter: “If there is any abuse, it did not take place in my home or has nothing to do with me.”
Jason accused his father and stepmother, Hanee Hope, aka Richanee Alcover, of physically and mentally abusing Tay and trying to gain custody of her just to take advantage of her and hurt her. Jason also accused Hope of bringing women home and having sex with them naked while Tay slept in the same bed. She said she was fed moldy food and locked in a dark closet sometimes.
The GoFundMe page included photos of Tay showing, among other things, bruises on her cheeks caused by her father, moldy food and a police report filed on Tay’s behalf in Vancouver.
