The former president of America, Barack Obamawrote to his ex that “she makes daily love with men, but in fantasy“, according to a 1982 letter obtained by The Post. The more than 40-year-old letter to an ex-girlfriend recently surfaced after a lengthy and rambling interview by Obama biographer David Garrow.
“As for homosexuality, I must say that it is an attempt to distance oneself from the “present”, a refusal, perhaps, to perpetuate the endless farce of earthly life. You see, I make love to men every day, but in fantasy,” Obama, then 21, wrote to Alex McNearin November 1982.
“I hope I can think in “human” terms and not as a woman at odds with men. However, returning to the body, I see that I have become a man – and physically – and so I choose to accept this fact“, he added.

McNear, who dated Obama while he was at Occidental College in Los Angeles, retracted the “lewd” paragraphs, which Pulitzer Prize-winning historian David Garrow included in his book.
The letter is now owned by Emory University, which does not allow its photography or removal. Instead, Garrow’s friend Harvey Clare transcribed the paragraphs by hand and sent them to the author.
