Ukraine’s Danube ports handled about a quarter of its grain exports before Russia withdrew in July from the UN-backed deal
Russian airstrikes carried out overnight in southern Ukraine damaged silos and grain warehouses in one of Ukraine’s ports. Danube, important for grain trading, announced today the governor of the region of Odessa on the Black Sea.
“Russian terrorists attacked the Odesa region twice last night with aggressive drones,” Governor Oleh Kiper announced via the Telegram platform. “The main targets were the port and grain infrastructure in the southern part of the district.”
Reuters was unable to independently confirm the information. So far there is no comment from Russia.
The Ukrainian Air Force announced that it destroyed 13 drones that had taken off from Russia over the southern regions of Odessa and Mykolayiv. It was not immediately clear how many drones were taken off by Russia in total.

Ukraine’s Danube ports handled about a quarter of its grain exports before Russia withdrew in July from a UN-backed deal on the safe passage of Ukrainian grain exports through the Black Sea.
Ukrainian ports on the Danube have since become the main export route. The grain is sent by barge to the Romanian port of Constanta where it is transhipped for export.
Earlier this month, Russia attacked Ismail, Ukraine’s main port on the Danube, sending world food prices soaring.
