Abigail Jo Shrey called Judge Tanya Chatkan a ‘stupid black slave’ and also threatened to kill anyone who prosecuted Trump
A woman was arrested Wednesday night in Texas for threatening the life of the federal judge who will preside over the trial of former US President Donald Trump, who is accused of trying to overturn the outcome of the 2020 election.
According to court documents, on Aug. 5, Alvin, Texas resident Abigail Jo Shrey left a racist phone message containing death threats at Judge Tanya Chatkan’s office in Washington.
The 43-year-old fanatical supporter of Trump called Chatkan in the message “stupid black slave” and stated, “you’re in our sights, we want to kill you,” according to the document filed in federal court for the Southern District of Texas.
“If Trump is not elected in 2024, we will kill you, so watch out“, the arrested woman threatened, adding that the judge’s family is also a target.
She also threatened to kill anyone who prosecuted Donald Trump, naming Texas Democratic Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.

Yesterday, Wednesday, a judge ordered his arrest and arraignment, following a lawsuit filed by an agent of the US Department of Homeland Security.
The 77-year-old Trump is currently the favorite in the race for the Republican Party’s presidential nomination ahead of the 2024 election, but as he tries to return to the White House he faces four criminal trials.
Judge Chatkan, 61, will preside over the trial of the former president, who is accused of trying to overturn the outcome of the 2020 election, which was won by his Democratic rival Joe Biden. Donald Trump was indicted on August 1st for conspiracy against the state in this case.
Two years ago, the judge rejected an appeal by Trump, who argued that, as president, he could not hand over documents to a congressional committee investigating the 2021 attack on the Capitol by Trump supporters. He had responded that “presidents are not kings” and that Trump was no longer serving as president.
In addition, Chatkan sentenced to severe sentences supporters of the former president who had participated in the attack on the Capitol.
Born in Jamaica, Tanya Chatkan was nominated by Democratic former President Barack Obama and her nomination was unanimously confirmed by the Senate in June 2014.
