Belarus will respond “immediately and overwhelmingly” if Ukraine, the Baltic states or Poland act aggressively against it, the president warned on Thursday Alexander Lukashenko.

“There can only be one threat: aggression against our country. If aggression starts even from the side of Ukraine, from the side of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, we will immediately respond with everything we have,” Lukashenko said, according to Russian news agency TASS.

“We are not competing with them. However, we will deal them a crushing blow and they will end up with a crushing loss, damage,” write down.

Lukashenko argued that despite the fact that the Ukrainian capital was surrounded by Russian troops at some point during the war, Russia did not invade Kiev because that would have killed many people, TASS reported.

“We had a conversation with (Russian President Vladimir) Putin regarding this. I say, “To end the war, of course, the capital must be captured.” He tells me: ”You know, it can be done. Be done immediately, immediately, but a huge number of people will die.”

Lukashenko also warned that Ukraine she may lose all her territory if it continues its military activities, according to TASS. Kiev needs to “move towards peace,” he said, adding: “The first step that needs to be taken is to consolidate peace.”
