The military parade was held in the square named after the country’s first leader, Kim Il Sung, grandfather of Kim Jong Un, who attended the parade with his daughter.
A high-ranking Chinese delegation visited Pyongyang and held talks with Kim Jong Un, according to the North’s Korean Central News Agency (KCNA). In a letter, Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed his desire to strengthen strategic cooperation between his country and North Korea.
Russian President Vladimir Putin also sent a letter to Kim Jong Un, in which he stressed that Moscow and Pyongyang will strengthen their bilateral relations in order to guarantee security and stability on the Korean Peninsula and the wider region of Northeast Asia.
Kim is expected to travel to Russia this month to meet Putin and discuss weapons programs to support Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Reuters news agency reported.
