The first talks between Azerbaijan and the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh began today in the Azeri city of Yevlakh after Baku’s military blitzkrieg victory to regain control of the autonomous enclave.

As of late 2020 and a previous war, Russia has a peacekeeping mission of soldiers in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Alongside Turkish head of state Recep Tayyip Erdogan reiterated Ankara’s “undivided support” to Baku during his telephone conversation with his Azeri counterpart Ilham Aliyev, who gave him “information” regarding the “current situation”, it was announced by the Turkish presidency. The Russian Ministry of Defense announced for its part that two Russian soldiers were killed yesterday, Wednesday, when their vehicle came under fire.
