Israel and Saudi Arabia are said to be very close to an agreementdespite the thorns as stated in an interview with Fox News, Mohammed bin Salman, as reported by the BBC.

It is noted that an agreement between the two powers would mean a huge regional change.

In a rare interview, Saudi crown prince says Palestinian issue remains ‘very important’ part of US-brokered talks.

As part of the negotiating process, the Wall Street Journal reported that Israeli and US officials were working on a plan that could to allow Riyadh to enrich uranium.

Enriched uranium can be used to make nuclear reactor fuel as well as nuclear weapons.

The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has previously warned of the dangers of a nuclear arms race in the Middle East, has not publicly responded to the WSJ report.

The Fox News interview was broadcast shortly after Mr Netanyahu and US President Joe Biden met on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

The possibility that the two sides will reach a decision to establish diplomatic relations for the first time is also on track. The US is a close ally of both countries.

In an official statement Israel said the meeting in New York “dealt mainly with ways to conclude a historic peace agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia, which could significantly advance the end of the Arab-Israeli conflict.”
