Nagorno-Karabakh Armenian separatists, who laid down their arms after Azeri forces’ blitzkrieg operation in the enclave, handed over six armored vehicles and more than 800 small arms and ammunition, Russian peacekeepers said today.

“Based on the cease-fire agreements, the armed units of Karabakh began to hand over their weapons and military equipment under the control of Russian peacekeepers. On September 22, six armored vehicles, more than 800 light weapons and anti-tank weapons and about 5,000 rounds of ammunition were handed over,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

Moscow also reported two ceasefire violations today, fewer than yesterday, Thursday.

Russian soldiers delivered 50 tons of humanitarian aid to the people of Nagorno-Karabakh and organized the hosting of more than 800 displaced people, half of whom are children.

The separatists announced that they are negotiating with Azerbaijan to withdraw their troops from the region. Talks on the “reintegration” of Nagorno-Karabakh into Azerbaijan began on Thursday.
