The capital of Karabakh is known as Stepanakert to Armenia and Khankendi to Azerbaijan.
No further details have been released about the blast, which comes as thousands of Armenians flee the mountainous region after the defeat of Nagorno-Karabakh separatist forces by Azerbaijan in a military operation last week.
This is critical. A fuel and gas distribution center in Nagorno-Karabakh has exploded. There has been a critical fuel shortage in NK due to Azerbaijan’s ~10 month blockade, obstructing many NK Armenians from fleeing. https://t.co/rIWFO3yfOw
