North Korea says it will deport US soldier Travis King who crossed the border from South Korea during a tour in July, according to the BBC.

Pyongyang will deport him after completing its investigation into King’s “illegal” entrybroadcast it state news agency KNCA.

The KCNA did not specify how, when or where Private King will be deported.

His release comes a month after North Korea admitted the detention of the 23-year-old.

According to KCNA, he confessed that crossed into North Korea illegally “because of inhumane treatment in the US military, dislike of racism, and frustration with the unequal US society.”

“The competent body in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea has decided to deport American soldier Travis Kingwho illegally entered the territory of the republic, according to the laws of the republic”KCNA reported.

Details on Travis King’s health have not been released and he has not been seen since crossing into North Korea.

He was on a tour of the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) that separates the two Koreas when he left the group and ran across the border.

King had previously been placed in two-month detention in South Korea on misdemeanor assault charges before being released on July 10.
