It was issued by the Special Secretariat for the Management of ERDF and TC Programs, the inclusion of the act “Bralos-Amfissa Road Section of the Lamia-Itea-Antirrio axis (Bralos-Gravia Bypass Authority and Bauxite Mining I/C-Amfissa)” in the operational program of the Ministry of National Economy and Finance “METAFORES”, with the beneficiary being the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.

The project in question, with a total public expenditure of 262,189,896.00 euros, concerns the study and construction of sub-sections of the “Bralos-Amfissa” road section of the “Lamia-Itea-Antirrio” axis, which is part of the “Analytic Trans-European Network of Transport”.

It includes the study and construction of road sections, tunnels, bridges, level junctions, underpasses and underpasses and a network of secondary roads to connect with the rest of the existing road network.

With the completion of the project, the “Bralos-Amfissa” road section of the “Lamia-Itea-Antirrio” axis, 24.0 km long, will be open to traffic, thus improving the traffic connection of the P.E. Fthiotidas with P.E. Phocis. In addition, the upgraded connection between the Eastern (PATHE) and Western (IONIA) Axis will bring about significant changes in the way road transport is carried out, as it will allow, on the one hand, faster movement from the Regions of Central Greece and Thessaly directly to Western Greece, the interconnection of the port of Patras with that of Volos, and on the other hand the upgrading of the Rio-Antirrio Bridge, which will be able to serve three major road axes from now on, creating an important economic perspective.
