A school bus shared by two schools, which was traveling on the M53 in Merseyside, NW England, overturned this morning, resulting in injuries.

According to local police, the vehicle is believed to have hit a divider at the exit of the freeway, which remains closed at that point.

The North West Ambulance Service declared a “major incident”, with a massive mobilization of crews, as well as an air ambulance.
The #M53 remains closed in both directions between J5 #Hooton and J4 #Bebington following a serious incident.
The closure is expected to remain in place for a considerable time today.
