As decided on her morning Friday (29/09), the Argentinian technician will receive compensation of 2 million euros from his former team, using his valve of article 15 which was in his contract. In addition, the 65-year-old technician is cleared of all charges against him, while the legal costs will also be paid by the Lilouis team.
Bielsa had signed a pre-contract with Lille since February 2017. The court took into account the specific document, which also provided for compensation, in case of dismissal before the completion of the intended contract.
It is recalled that Bielsa was the coach of Lille from May to November 2017, when he was fired due to a disciplinary offense, having refused to cooperate with the sporting director, Luis Campos.
The Argentinian coach sought to receive compensation, just as stipulated in his contract, which the French club did not want. The case had been in the courts since 2021.
