Damage to civilian infrastructure and warehouses in Mykolayiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions
Ukraine’s air defense systems shot down 16 of about 30 unmanned kamikaze drones sent by Russia to strike targets on its territory overnight, the air general staff in Kyiv announced today via Telegram.
The Russian drones were moving from the south, southeast and north direction, according to the source, while the target was in particular the Cherkasy region.
“At night, the enemy launched a massive attack against our Cherkasy region with drones (…) Unfortunately, there were hits to industrial infrastructure in (the city of) Uman,” regional governor Ihor Taburets said via Telegram.
Due to the blows, “fires broke out in warehouses”, especially places where “grains are stored”, and one person was injured, according to the Ukrainian air force.
At the same time, the Ukrainian presidency reported that political infrastructure and warehouses were also damaged in Mykolaiv (south) and Dnipropetrovsk (east) regions.
On the other hand, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that air defense systems shot down a Ukrainian drone in the Smolensk region (west) and three others in Krasnodar (south) around 08:00 and 09:00 respectively.
