It’s been a while since “The Rome Edition” welcomes guests to the 91-room hotel, located one block from Via Veneto, the street immortalized in the 1960 film “La Dolce Vita” by Federico Fellini.

Schrager and his team led the renovation of the grand building, using many of its original features, including the cipollino marble staircase, central courtyards, statues and light fixtures. “Built in the 1940s and previously housing one of Italy’s main banks, the building is a striking example of the Rationalist style and was created by Cesare Pascoletti who collaborated with renowned architect Marcello Piacentinisaid the team of The Edition group.

Arriving guests are led through a sunken piazza-garden, which functions as an outdoor lounge, restaurant extension and meeting space, before entering the lobby. Upon entering, they are faced with seven-metre ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and green curtains as well as travertine floors and walls that set the tone for the soft minimalism that is The Edition Group’s trademark.
