The Russian president will participate on October 13 in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, in a summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States
Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to visit Kyrgyzstan in mid-October, his first trip abroad since an arrest warrant was issued against him by the International Criminal Court.
“Following the invitation of Kyrgyz President Sadir Dzaparov, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin will pay an official visit to the country on October 12,” Kyrgyzstan’s Kabar news agency reported, citing a presidency official.
Putin is expected to participate in October 13 in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, in summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States, in which many former Soviet republics participate. He will also attend an event commemorating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of a Russian military base in Kyrgyzstan.
At the end of September, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced the upcoming visit of the Russian president to Kyrgyzstan, without specifying when it would take place.
Moreover, this will be Putin’s first trip abroad since the ICC issued an arrest warrant against him in the spring, following the deportation of children from Ukraine.
