The former president of the USA Donald Trump supports him Jim Jordan for the position of the president of the House of Representatives, after his impeachment Kevin McCarthy, as he officially announced in a post on the Truth Social platform.

“He (Jordan) is STRONG on Crime, the Border, our Military/Veterans and the 2nd Amendment. Jim, his wife Polly and his family are outstanding – He will make an AMAZING Speaker of the House and has my Full and Total Support,” he said in his post.

This statement by Trump comes after information leaked to the press, according to which the former president, who is again vying for the Republican nomination for the 2024 election, may accept to replace McCarthy for a short period of time.

Two Republican congressmen are vying for the position of speaker of the House of Representatives: Steve Scalise, who was second in command to McCarthy, and Jordan, a conservative from Ohio who has led investigations into the doings of President Joe Biden’s administration.

Republicans, who hold a slim majority in the House (221-212), are expected to hold a closed-door meeting on Tuesday to discuss their presidential nominee. Trump has declare that he will attend the meeting. This will be the former president’s first visit to the Capitol since his supporters invaded on January 6, 2021.

The vote is expected to take place the following day. However, bitterness and controversy after the dismissal of McCarthy is possible make the process difficult election of the new president.
