Two ballistic missiles hit residential area, one day after deadly Russian attack in Hroza
Fresh Russian strikes on a residential area in Kharkiv today – a day after yesterday’s “massacre” of civilians in the village of Khroza – killed a 10-year-old boy and wounded at least 23 people, Ukrainian authorities said.
“New attack against civilians by Russia. The lifeless body of a 10-year-old child was found in the wreckage,” Ukrainian President Zelensky and Interior Minister Igor Klimenko said in a message to X and Telegram today.

Two apartment buildings were damaged and a three-story house was destroyed, according to Klimenko.
Kharkiv Governor Oleh Sinekhubov confirmed that the child found dead was a boy and noted that at least 23 people were injured, including one 11 month old infant.
This morning, Russians attacked the center of Kharkiv with Iskander missiles.
Two buildings have been damaged, while another has been destroyed. Sixteen civilians have been injured.

He also pointed out that houses and cars were damaged by the attack with two Iskander ballistic missiles.
Grain silos and port infrastructure were damaged in Odessa
At the same time, the governor of Odessa, Oleh Kiper, stated that an attack by drones today caused damage to a grain silo in the Izmail region. According to him, 9 trucks also caught fire but it was quickly extinguished.
“The air strike alert lasted three and a half hours,” Kiper added. “The monster has once again targeted them border and port infrastructures of the Izmail region“, he added.
Ukraine’s military said operations at an international ferry checkpoint had been suspended and that authorities had rerouted some after the drone attacks.
The Ukrainian air force also announced in a post on its Telegram app that its air defenses shot down 25 of 33 Shahed 131/136 drones launched by Russia from its annexed peninsula Crimea.
The drone strikes targeted Odesa and Mykolaiv regions in the south, Dnipropetrovsk in the southeast, Cherkasy and Zhytomyr in central Ukraine, and also Kharkiv in the northeast, the Ukrainian air force said in a statement.
Moscow denies that it is deliberately targeting civilians, but many have been killed in attacks that have hit residential areas, as well as energy, port and other grain facilities in Ukraine.
Russia has stepped up attacks on Ukraine’s southern regions, home to Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea and the Danube, since July when Moscow abandoned a grain deal that ensured the safe passage of Ukrainian cargo across the Black Sea to ease global food crisis.
