The -Islamist- president Recep Tayyip Erdogan again refrained from condemning the unprecedented Sunday Hamas attack on Israel and the violence of the Palestinian organization, despite the international reactions. He urged Israel and Hamas to “support peace” and protect civilians.

Speaking in Istanbul, Erdogan declared that “Turkey is ready to do what belongs to her to stop the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and reduce the escalation of tension.” “We are ready to do everything to reduce tensions (…). We call on all actors to support peace,” the Turkish president stressed.

Regional peace is possible only with a two-state solution write down.

“The realization of an independent, geographically unified Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with Jerusalem as its capital, it cannot be delayed,” said Tayyip Erdogan.

It is noted that Hamas maintains offices in major Turkish cities, while its leader Ismail Haniya is often hosted in Presidential Palace of Turkey.
