Also, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi warned during a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin that a “ground offensive” by the Israeli army in Gaza “could lead to a long war and many fronts”, according to message sent by Mohammad Jamsidi, one of his political advisers.

During another phone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Raisi said Iran was ready to “cooperate with Turkey and other Muslim countries” to “send humanitarian aid” to Gaza after the expected opening of the crossing point. with Egypt, according to the presidency.

During his tour, Amir-Abdollahian met with senior officials of Hamas, the Palestinian Islamist movement that has been in power since 2007 and is backed by Tehran.

More than 1,400 people, mostly civilians, were killed in Israel after the attack. Hamas also took 199 hostages, according to Israel.
