The US Embassy in Israel announced today that it has information that the Rafah crossing, which connects Egypt with the Gaza Strip, will be opened at 10:00 this morning (local and Greek time) to remove foreign nationals staying trapped on the side of the Palestinian enclave and the Palestinians with dual citizenship.

“We do not know how long it will remain open for the removal of foreign citizens from Gaza,” the announcement states.

According to the Times of Israel, embassy warns of a “potentially chaotic and disorderly environment on both sides of the crossing” and urges foreign nationals to assess the situation before moving to the border or attempting to cross.

Meanwhile, international mediators are working feverishly to open the crossing today to allow humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip and the exit of foreign nationals.
