The last communication he had with his 21-year-old daughter Maya, who along with her 18-year-old brother Itay were at the Israel music festival on the day of the Hamas attack, was released by her father Ilan Regev.

The CNN reporter Erin Burnett had the opportunity to speak with the father of the 21-year-old Hamas hostage, who had recorded the last call he received from his daughter on the phone.

“Dad they shot me, they shot me. It’s killing us dad, it’s killing us,” 21-year-old Maya, who was at the Israel music festival with her 18-year-old brother, can be heard saying, as he asks her to send him their location.

“I love you dad. We’re in the car, we can’t leave,” the young Israeli tells her father on the phone, and he breaks down.

It’s been 12 days without their parents having any sign of life, the CNN reporter points out, pointing out that her father wanted the chilling call of the 21-year-old Hamas hostage to be heard. “I thought they were dead, they were both dead,” says Ilan Regev.
