The Israeli president made a shocking revelation to the British Sky News network Isaac Herzog. As he claimed in an interview, Hamas terrorists carried Al Qaeda instructions on how to make chemical weapons.

The documents, complete with diagrams, President Herzog showed the channel. He said he was “official Al Qaeda material” which showed how to make a cyanide gun.

“The Hamas terrorists who invaded Israel carried instructions for the manufacture of chemical weapons,” the Israeli president said.

Israeli forces claim that they discovered the material on the bodies of the dead fighters at Kibbutz Beeriwhere it is estimated that 20% of the 1,100 inhabitants were killed or kidnapped.

Sky News points out that it is unable to verify the claims.

“It is al-Qaeda material. Official Al Qaeda material. We are confronting ISIS, Al-Qaeda and Hamas,” said President Herzog.

“This shows how shocking the situation is when we see the instructions given on how to operate and how to create a kind of non-professional cyanide chemical weapon’.

The information, which has been declassified, shows the ingredients needed to make a chemical bomb. Sky News has decided to blur part of the material.

Also asked if he understands that many Israelis they are angry and feel let down by the Israeli government and security forces, Herzog agreed.

“Absolutely. I listen to it all day. I hear it from families all day, and I hear it from refugees, those who had to leave and are now in hotels and other places around the country and shelters, with only a few clothes. People are very very disappointed and clearly very angry, and rightly so.”

But he wouldn’t “wag the finger” at the prime minister just yet Benjamin Netanyahu: “Because we are at war, because we have to win, because we stand up like a lion, because we have to defend our people and change reality, we will face all these after the war.”

Kibbutz Beeri was one of the areas worst hit by Hamas fighters crossing the border

Herzog rejected accusations that Israel’s bombardment of Gaza has a disproportionate cost on civilians, and argued that Israel has no choice but to eliminate Hamas.

“It’s not true. We have realistic goals. We say we want to eliminate Hamas’ military infrastructure. We have said it clearly. We are careful. It’s already been two weeks and we haven’t attempted the ground because we’re being cautious.”

“I cry for the lives of the Palestinians, but first and foremost I cry for the lives of my nation.”

More than 4,500 people have been killed in 16 days of Israeli airstrikes, according to figures from the Hamas-controlled health ministry.

The United Nations and other humanitarian organizations operating in Gaza have said there is a humanitarian emergency in the Strip, but Herzog claimed that “most of Gaza is ‘working'”.

“The problem is that some of the infrastructure, some of the aid is taken over by Hamas. It’s very easy to blame Israel,” he said.

Asked what will happen to Gaza if Israel achieves its goals and wipes out Hamas, Herzog said that is Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision.

“Reality has collapsed. People wonder. “Possible; Can I make peace with a neighbor who wants to cut off the heads of my children? Is it possible?” he asked.

“I can’t get into this one [λύση δύο κρατών] at this moment when my nation is bleeding, it hurts and agony. I always think about what kind of vision we can create. I believe in the inclusion of Israel in the region. As part of the process we must find a way to have an afterlife with the Palestinians, but not when they are celebrating the fact that so many thousands of Israelis are being killed in the most horrific terrorist attack in modern times.”
