Third letter of distrust against Boris Johnson from his MP in one day

by

London, Thanasis Gavos

Conservative MP Gary Streeter from the ND Devon district became the third member of Britain’s ruling party’s parliamentary group to announce today that he had submitted a letter of no confidence against Prime Minister Boris Johnson to the party’s 1922 commission.

It was preceded by MPs Tobias Elwood and Anthony Mangal, who followed a letter from their colleague Peter Aldous on Tuesday.

According to one count, the Conservative MPs who have said they have written to the Commission in 1922 are now 12, while most have publicly challenged Boris Johnson.

In case of collecting 54 letters of distrust, a vote is automatically triggered in the parliamentary group for a possible dismissal of the Prime Minister.

Mr Straitter, 66, a Member of Parliament for 1997, explained that he “could not reconcile the pain and sacrifice of the vast majority of the British public during the lockdowns with the mentality and activities of those working on Downing Street”.
