The candidate who came in third place in the first round of the presidential elections held on Sunday in Argentina, Patricia Bullrich (right), announced yesterday Wednesday that she supports the “change” that the ultra-liberal Javier represents in her view of the second round Miley, the runner-up in the race, behind the coalition candidate (center-left), Economy Minister Sergio Massa.

“We cannot remain neutral. The majority of Argentines chose change (…) we will not abandon them,” Mrs. Bullrich, who won 23.83% of the vote on Sunday, behind Mr. Miley (29.98%) and Masha (36.68%).

The unfortunate candidate emphasized, however, that she did not speak on behalf of either her party or the center-right opposition coalition Juntos por el Cambio (“Together for Change”), of which she was a candidate and which governed from 2015 to 2019, with president the liberal Maurizio Macri.

“We have differences with Miley, that’s why we competed. But before us we have the dilemma of change or mafia continuity. The majority chose change, we will be part of that change,” Ms Bullrich underlined, revealing that she met with Mr Millay last Tuesday night and they exchanged “forgives”.

The announcement of the former Minister of Security, a protégé of former President Macri, caught the attention of many.

Ms Bullrich belongs to the right wing of the Juntos por el Cambio alliance.

However, the fact that she supported Javier Millay personally, and not on behalf of her faction, if nothing else clearly reflects the divisions in the opposition over who she will support, if anyone, ahead of the second round of elections on November 19.
