When the outbreak of the pandemic forced all the airlines in the world to land their fleets, for some planes, it meant that they would never fly again.
One of them was sold instead of just one pound (1.2 euros), but gained a second life.
It is a Boeing 747 of British Airways, which the airline used in the 1970s and 1980s. The aircraft rejoined the company’s fleet in February 1994 and made its last commercial flight in April 2020.
In October 2020, he flew from London Heathrow Airport to Kochgold Airport, where he was purchased by the airport’s CEO, Suzannah Harvey. Her plan? Turn it into a room for parties and events.
Harvey gave a pound to buy the plane, but it cost much more to rebuild.
Boeing’s entire financial position has been dismantled to free up more space. Modern furniture with minimal aesthetics was added, the “kitchen” of the plane was turned into a bar and of course special lighting was added. All this cost about 500,000 pounds (about 600,000 euros).
The space is rented for events, from birthday parties to corporate events or even weddings. The cost of renting exceeds. 1,000 an hour.
