The beloved actor Matthew Perry, known as Chandler from “Friends”, breathed his last in the early hours of Sunday in the jacuzzi of his residence in Los Angeles, spreading sadness among the fans of the series and the art world.

Many famous actors including Maggie Wheeler have expressed their condolences on the loss of the 54-year-old through their social media accounts.

The actor was facing problems mental health as he had been diagnosed with a depressive disorder.

Police found prescription drugs at his home, such as anti-depressants and anti-anxiety pills at the time of his death – but no illegal drugs, the Daily Mail reports.

Also, a prescription drug was found at his home in Los Angeles for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

Matthew Perry was a smoker and struggled with alcohol and opiate addiction for yearsbut claimed he was addicted shortly before his sudden death by drowning.

According to the British newspaper the an official cause of death has not yet been announced.
