Her sister and mother-in-law almost passed away a week later, on Friday, August 4.

Her husband died the next day and her father-in-law remained in a critical condition in hospital, but he survived in the end.

According to skynews, police confirmed the woman was arrested on November 2in the context of her investigation into the death of three people, who were poisoned after a meal at a private residence.

They did not name Patterson, however a police investigation is underway in her house.

“I didn’t do anything,” she said as she sobbed outside her home and continued “I’m so sorry they lost their lives. I just can’t believe it. I didn’t do anything, I love them and I’m devastated they’re gone.”

Patterson told officers she served the meal and allowed guests to choose their dishes. Then she took the last plate and ate it herself.
