To celebrate the arrival of the Chinese New Year, a show with 80 drones that will make light projections will be held by Ibrachina (Instituto Sociocultural Brasil China) this Friday (4), at 20:00, on the cable-stayed bridge Octavio Frias de Oliveira, one of the main postcards of São Paulo.
In the presentation, the red of the Chinese flag will appear alongside the Brazilian green and yellow. The show, which should last five minutes, will also feature a tiger, an animal that is the theme of the new year of the Chinese calendar, with lights.
Ibrachina says that the format of the celebration was thought of as an adaptation for pandemic times of a Chinese tradition, that of throwing lanterns into the sky containing wishes for the new stage that begins.
With the projections of the symbols on the bridge, residents and workers in the region will be able to see the figures from afar, in safety, as well as those who are passing by in a car, according to the institute.
The show will, however, depend on weather conditions. If it is raining heavily at the time scheduled for the presentation, the drones will not be able to take off. In this case, the organization must wait for the weather to improve before starting the exhibition.
Founded in 2018 by lawyer Thomas Law, Ibrachina announces its purpose is to promote integration between the cultures and peoples of China, Brazil and other Portuguese-speaking countries.
The entity works in partnership with universities, entities and associations, in addition to being part of two parliamentary fronts created in the Chamber of Deputies, Brazil-China and Brics.
