“There is no humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Ms. Jolie is not offering the Israeli people any opportunity to defend themselves,” Herzog said in an interview with Piers Morgan
The Israeli president, Isaac Herzog, yesterday gave a full-length television interview to the famous presenter Piers Morgan, where – among others – he “answered” Angelina Jolie, who had recently been appointed of Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip, saying they are “collectively bombarded and punished by Israel, while being deprived of food, medicine and humanitarian aid in violation of International Law.”

Herzog criticized the famous actress and former UN ambassador for refugees, saying that she has “never visited Gaza to see what is happening on the ground” and that, with her statements, “she does not offer the Israeli people any opportunity to defend himself.”
“Angelina Jolie does not offer the Israeli people any ability to defend themselves by saying what she is saying.”

“There is no humanitarian crisis in Gaza”
“I don’t think she’s ever been to Gaza, to see what’s happening on the ground,” Herzog said, days after Jolie’s father, Jon Voight, himself criticized his daughter for her remarks.
“With all due respect, people in Gaza know there is a war, but there is no humanitarian crisis preventing them from surviving. On the contrary, there is a safe zone agreed by the international community and Israel, in the southern part of Gaza, in order to move the citizens to this zone,” said the Israeli president.
Herzog went on to say that there has been a “dramatic increase in international humanitarian aid to Gaza, in cooperation with the United States and the United Nations and many other nations, which Israel has strongly supported.”
“The people of Gaza can move so we can root out this terror regime. This is what we know. Angelina Jolie gives the Israeli people no chance to defend themselves by saying what she sayshe said.
The Oscar-winning actress “uploaded” a text on Instagram a few days ago, writing: “Like millions of people around the world, I have spent the last few weeks sick and angry with the terrorist attack in Israel, the death of so many innocent citizens and wondering how to help better. I too pray for the immediate, safe return of each hostage and for the families who bear the unimaginable pain of the murder of a loved one. Above all, for the children who were murdered and for the many children who are now orphaned.”
He continued: “What happened in Israel is an act of terrorism. But that cannot justify the innocent lives lost by the bombing of a civilian population in Gaza who have nowhere to go, no access to food or water, no possibility of evacuation, not even the basic human right to cross the borders to seek refuge”.
