The second son of Queen Margaret II of Denmark, Prince Joachim and Princess Mary have reportedly bought a new property in the historic town of Vedbek north of Copenhagen for €3.4 million. The move comes after the royal family sold their villa in Klampenbourg, where they lived for two years after moving from Schackenborg Castle in South Jutland. According to the “Hello” report, the new property will be their base for future family gatherings.

The family is currently in the US, where Prince Joachim has secured a new job at the Danish embassy in Washington. In his new role, the youngest son of the Danish queen will “contribute to strengthening Denmark’s defense industrial cooperation with the United States and Canada in the coming years.” The family’s move to America from France was announced by the palace in March. The previous role of Prince Joachim, who is sixth in line to the Danish throne, was at the Danish embassy in Paris.
